Job description
We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator for a local scrap yard in the Selmer, TN.
The hours are Monday – Friday 7am – 5 pm and every other Saturday 7am-noon.
Must be able to lift +75lbs for a straight 10hr shift.
Pay is between $13-$15hr
Job Responsibilities:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations creating a safe working environment.
Follow instructions provided by a Foreman with daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
Safely work around heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, etc.
Inspect, maintain, and operate hand tools, power tools, and other various equipment.
Setup and use GPS equipment and laser levels to accurately measure grade.
Read, interpret, and follow plans, specifications, and other contract documents
Communicate well with others on the jobsite both verbally and using hand signals.
Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality customer service.
Equipment & Maintenance
Inspect crane mechanisms or lifting accessories and report any equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the proper supervisor.
Basic sorting of scrap, as well as metal and debris in preparation for processing.
