Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Electrician for work at a jobsite in the Muscle Shoals, AL area.
NO per diem or relocation available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in/near the area.
Must have industry recognized (or equivalent) certification in either Millwright Mechanic or Electrical / Instrumentation trades
NCCER Preferred- Pre employment NCCER testing required.
Pay range is $26-$38 per hour depending on certifications and years of experience
General Job Description:
Plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment.
Functional Requirements:
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials.
Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring.
Consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit.
Pulls wiring through conduit.
Splices wires / connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
May repair faulty equipment or systems.
Performs other duties assigned.
Tools/Equipment:
Employee may be required to provide the following: tool box, slide cutter, channel locks, adjustable wrench, torpedo level, diagonal or stakon pliers, needle nose pliers, allen wrenches, voltage tester, electrician's knife, rule, pencil, tool pouch, fillister screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, crescent wrenches, hacksaw, and rain suit
Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.
; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.
; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction
Work Environment Factors:
• Location: industrial maintenance and construction sites
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.
; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
; potential exposure to chemical substances
