com In this role, you will have a critical support role in our Advanced Thermal Systems team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles.
You will be responsible for managing components, supplies, and logistics to ensure that daily production schedules are maintained.
The Plant Buyer will utilize resources such as SAP to track requirements and work with suppliers to allow for on-time delivery of components.
This role is based in Lawrenceburg, TN and will report to the Advanced Thermal Systems Materials Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Responsible for and manages purchasing, materials requirements planning, supplier relationship management Purchasing of productive and non-productive supplies from established supply base while controlling inventory and associated costs.
Key team member of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for the Advanced Thermal Systems business unit.
Prepare material requisition and order using approved suppliers regarding specifications, quantities, pricing, due dates, and other shipping information.
Assist in developing a materials strategy that maximizes customer satisfaction and meets inventory targets.
Take an active role in cycle counts and physical inventory monitoring.
Develop and execute material strategies that meet customer requirements, company targets and creates stability across the supply chain Monitor market trends and identify critical supply disruption points in upstream value chain and formulate an effective strategy for mitigation Manage component, supplies and logistics to assure that daily production schedules are maintained.
Utilize SAP and other resources to track customer requirements and work with the suppliers allowing on-time delivery of components and on-time shipping performance to customers.
Maintain inventory levels for productive material consistent with production schedules and management directives Propose and support implementation of cost reduction and delivery improvement projects Comply with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies Complete special projects and assignments as required Travel: less than 5% Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, Accounting or other technical field preferred 2+ years of Materials Control and/or Buyer experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software; experience with SAP is preferred Good interpersonal and collaboration skills Ability to handle multiple projects effectively Strong analytical and organizational skills Computer literate, with Excel skills/abilities Understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 and how it relates to the materials group is beneficial For California Residents - Privacy Disclosure #LI-LR1 #LI-Hybrid Modine is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Welcomes all Qualified Applicants!
