POSITION/TITLE: Shipping Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Shipping
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The shipping supervisor position performs inventory management for incoming and outgoing company products and parts necessary for manufacturing of products.
Owns safety performance of the department and audits all safety procedures for proper adherence.
Responsible for conducting daily startup shift meetings with the shipping team
Track key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the shipping department and conduct daily reports out of current performance to goal.
Take ownership, and accountability of shipping KPI’s developing, and executing actions to address metrics that are not meeting the established goals.
Responsible for managing all outbound shipments, (tracking loading progress, backorders, proper loading techniques, the correct order of drops, and that all accessories have been properly added to the load).
Coordinate with scheduler, and production manager daily on “hot units” to eliminate potential out-of-stock back orders
Accountable to ensure that all loads are completed, by the target departure time.
Responsible for performing the ABG shipping audit at the designated frequency
Communicate with logistics on the “add to loads” process (Adding additional units to underutilized trailers)
Works with the shipping team to ensure warehouses are organized, and that all assigned products are being stored in the correct labeled location(s).
Performs 5S, of the dock and inventory areas; includes hands-on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other departments
Accountable to ensure that all system transactions, and documentation is accurate, neat, and completed each day.
Responsible for conducting monthly actual physical counts of all Finished Goods, and A2 product, using inventory tag process.
Engage with shipping team daily to problem solve and perform Continuous Improvement activities to continue driving operational excellence in the department.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
