POSITION/TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Production Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent and Plant Manager
Supervises: Maintenance Technicians
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1.
Perform and direct highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
2.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs or directs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
3.
Perform or directs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
4.
Perform or direct mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
5.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform or direct required maintenance and service.
6.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
7.
Perform or direct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
8.
Perform or direct a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
9.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing or directing duties.
10.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work areas.
11.
Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Administrative Duties: * Consider and Plan Preventative Maintenance Duties.
•Review prior systemic failures and breakdowns and determine conclusive remediation and proactive preventative measures.
* Review prior preventative measures implemented for confirmation of effectiveness.
* Review component purchase history and determine potential areas of excessive usages.
* Negotiates with vendors to determine best pricing in order to achieve maintenance cost targets.
* Review safety findings and determine solutions for potential hazards.
* Be involved in safety meetings contributing insight to potential hazards to be addressed.
* Review downtime log to determine potential maintenance related systemic issues to address.
* Review scrap data to determine maintenance related sources of failures (ovens, guns, pumps, saws) and implement corrective actions.
* Be involved in environmental evaluations to determine additional preventative measures.
* Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
* Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC: * Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience; * 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.

· Sitting: Rarely-Only in Office Setting · Standing: Frequently · Bending: Occasionally · Walking: Frequently · Carrying: As above; Uses tow motor for heavier items.
* Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
Tools The variety of tasks performed by a Maintenance person require that the person have good manual dexterity; ability to adapt to changing situations and work priorities; good working knowledge of both heavy and light industrial equipment and machinery; have basic working knowledge of air and electric hand tools; and be able to work a minimum 10-hour shift per day.
The job requires flexibility, good customer relation skill, and good hand/eye coordination.
Attention to detail and a safety-minded attitude is a requirement, as employee will be expected to maintain equipment that could/shall impact the personal safety of self and co-workers.
