Job Duties and Task:
Put safety first, participate fully in Mill Safety program and set the example for personal safety ownership.
Responsible for achieving area objectives for Production, Uptime, and Cost (Including Annual MIP Savings).
Responsible for all aspects of process performance including equipment design, performance and reliability, production process effectiveness and operating practices.
Responsible for driving Root Cause Analysis in assigned areas
Participate fully in Area Team implementation with production Mentor and Area Mechanical Lead
Identify and implement process improvement projects including capital as well as expense (MIP) improvements.
Coordinate major project planning including annual SHUTS in assigned areas.
Assist in asset life plan review and development, including interacting with OEMs and SMEs.
Create and submit project capital Appropriation Requests (AR's) and manage said projects from conception, through design, to installation, commissioning and handover, on time and within budget.
Train, teach and coach operators and other personnel with any current or future process aspects which may impact quality, cost or performance.
Implement and provide training in analytical problem-solving techniques.
Specific skills and Qualities
University degree qualified (Bachelors of Engineering) in a relevant discipline (Manufacturing/ Electrical / Mechanical) with minimum 3 -5 years post graduation experience
Training and experience in relevant continuous process optimization techniques.
Knowledge of continuous manufacturing process and reliability improvement methods.
Ability to organize, plan and establish a routine of activities to ensure principle accountabilities are met.
Experience of delivering successful continuous process improvements in a team based environment.
Experience using data-based analytical troubleshooting techniques
Proactive, questioning, 'get-it-done' attitude
Basic engineering understanding of maintenance and operating activities; including interpreting and developing of P &IDs
Willingness to demonstrate a Go See Act approach in area of responsibility
Demonstrate ability to cooperate with leadership team, and operational and maintenance staff.
