Role Summary This position is for a new greenfield facility that will be located in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Under the general direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer works independently and is responsible for all Q.

The Quality Engineer (QE) is required to work with all departments on the development of new products in order to meet customer and TS-16949 requirements.
This includes all quality related aspects of PPAP, prototype and ongoing product development.

Key Responsibilities RESPONSIBILIES: • Act as a champion/decision maker for quality related issues within the scope of responsibility • Maintain a thorough understanding of customer product and engineering specifications • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities • Review problem reports and responses with resolutions to ensure there will be no recurrence • Evaluate dimensional issues and develop appropriate counter measures on new programs in conjunction with the project coordinator and/or customer • Liaise between customers, Q.

Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS: • Lead all program launch activities from the quality perspective • Coordinate tasks/responsibilities to production personnel regarding Quality issues • Train and mentor quality and production personnel as required (Customer requirements, etc.
) • Works with Magna Structures Tennessee LLC.
personnel on APQP and cross functional teams on the development of new and existing components to meet critical customer deadlines • Implement new procedures and processes in prototype stages of product launches in compliance with customer specific requirements • Coordinate, prepare and implement new program fixture build cost, timing and quality, to meet customer and division standards • Actively participates in the development and maintenance of PFMEA’s • Assist in TS-16949 and ISO14000 implementation and compliance • Maintain a high level of confidentiality while managing customer sensitive documents and data that drives process and product changes • Plan and prepare PPAP submissions on new products and engineering changes to meet customer deadlines and customer specific requirements (PSO/SQMS and Run @ Rate) • Develop and maintain Q.

Control Plan Package documentation and procedures both pre-launch and production • Evaluate quality issues utilizing appropriate problem-solving techniques, CAD, statistics and GD&T as required Key Qualifications/Requirements EDUCATION: • Post-secondary graduate with a degree/diploma in Quality Engineering and/or Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent work-related experience in the Quality field.
KNOWLEDGE: • At least 5 years in an automotive manufacturing environment with knowledge in welding and assembly processes.
• Computer and CAD proficiency is required.
• Prior experience implementing TS-16949 procedures, APQP, PPAP submissions, GD&T, Flow Diagrams, FMEA’s, Control Plans, Statistics, Fixture Development and independent work with tooling subcontractors • Knowledge of chassis system and function of each component.
• Knowledge of Automotive body structure/ reinforcements for the purpose of crash safety.
• Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement tools (height gauge, vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, indicator, etc.
) • Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem-solving techniques including Drill Deep, 8D, 5 Phase.
• Advanced Knowledge of customer and ISO9001:2015 / IATF16949: 2016 requirements.
