This career opportunity within our Production Operations (Prod Ops) team has tremendous impact beyond any one individual! We are producing the next generation missiles, harnesses and chassis for Targets, Hypersonic and Mars vehicles.
Our facility in Courtland, AL is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our mission.
This position will report to the site Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will support all areas of Missile Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) and Electronic Assembly & Test Facility (EATF) operations.
As manufacturing continues to move in to the 21st century, it is critical that our processes advance with it.
The individual in this role will possess the desire to see technology utilized to benefit the end user and to better position our site to execute at the pace our customers demand.
They will help ensure the digital thread is weaved throughout our products and procedures to help achieve the 1LM vision.
Additionally, effective communication across all aspects of the business will be critical as they interface with a large variety of customers.
Other primary responsibilities will include: • Lead Production working groups reporting up to Executive Steering Committee (ESC) • Lead sites Future Factory efforts (i.
e.
DFx/DFM, VR/AR) • Be a champion for process improvement.
Identify opportunities for quality, cost and schedule improvements and implement changes.
• Foster customer relations, building rapport and confidence between Prod Ops, Programs and Customers.
• Engage in proposal, capital, estimates and/or concept of operation development.
• Travel to other sites as needed for collaboration, bench marking and knowledge sharing • Perform other supporting duties as assigned by the production team leadership.
• Manage technology insertion in a manufacturing environment Basic Qualifications: • Project management experience driving change through affordability initiatives by engaging stakeholders and building alignment.
• Experience interfacing with stakeholders at different levels and in various functional organizations • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFx/DFM) principles • Experience with Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT), Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR), and/or Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) type technologies and initiatives • Experience organizing and communicating data effectively • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance Desired Skills: • Understanding of Automation, Digital Twin, and Intelligent Factory Framework (IFF) type technologies and initiatives.
• Understanding of Future Factory critical components (flexible factory, intelligent factory framework and advanced manufacturing) • Manufacturing engineering floor experience.
• Experience with engineering efforts in support of Digital Transformation & Model-Based Engineering activities.
• Knowledge of CAD systems and Manufacturing ERP systems, such as EPDM, Creo, SAP, VE-CAMs.
• Experience with Additive Manufacturing or 3D Printing processes • Demonstrated ability to apply lean six sigma principles in a production environment.
• Understanding of BoE and savings analysis • Must be able to interface with senior leadership, customers, and various functional organizations.
• Understanding of current and emerging technology/software Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
