New Way Trucks Inventory Control Coordinator Location: IA & MS JOB SUMMARY The Inventory Control Coordinator will play a crucial role in optimizing inventory processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, and supporting efficient production workflows.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in inventory management, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Duties and Responsibilities Assist with maintaining the accuracy of the inventory within assigned area at New Way Trucks.
Responsible for maintaining the part identification for on hand inventory through labeling racks, shelves, bins, etc.
with clear visible part numbers, descriptions, and barcodes.
Responsible for maintaining inventory count sheets to accurately show the location where every part is stocked at and kept in order of how parts are stocked on each shelf.
Ensure all serialized parts are issued to the correct job numbers and consumed from inventory as serialized part is attached in production to body/chassis build out.
Conduct monthly inventory counts on designated ABC coded inventory and maintain results electronically for the Inventory Control Manager.
Assist in random spot checks for counts on high value and/or high variance parts on hand.
Assist in gathering inventory counts for parts needed for transfer or ship out.
Manage the inventory transfer process on inventory movement internally between plants to ensure accuracy in Epicor and documentation of transfer is complete and captured.
Assist with ongoing inventory prep work efforts to ensure companywide inventory counts are conducted efficiently and accurately with minimal disruption to production.
Lead companywide inventory counts in assigned area.
Collect completed count sheets for all warehouses and record results electronically for submission to Inventory Control Manager within 24 hours.
Assist in the reconciliation of any scheduled inventory count in assigned area.
Investigate and report reasons for inventory variances.
Follow through with inventory control processes, procedures, and best practices.
Understand internal and external customer needs and how to meet them via appropriate inventory of all production and replacement parts.
Communicate with department managers regarding current inventory and potential barriers to production.
Analyze current inventory and forecast inventory needs for future production.
Design and implement strategies to minimize floor costs but ensuring replenishment of inventory to meet the requirements for production.
Present inventory data to management and propose improvements for the business.
Incorporate new technologies into inventory procedures.
Manages inventory tracking system to record movements and stock levels.
Works closely with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to streamline processes and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Evaluates deliveries, shipments, and product level.
Required Skills and Abilities Proven experience in inventory control within a manufacturing environment using an ERP system.
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and software.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy n record-keeping.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
Knowledge or lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
Ability to participate in inventory and inventory prep during nontraditional hours.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Education, experience, and prior military service may combine to meet requirement.
Physical Requirements Must wear PPE as prescribed in Safety policies.
Prolonged periods on the factory floor in various environments.
Typically indoors around noise and power tools.
Occasionally spends time in the elements.
