Primary Purpose: Operate fabrication machinery in a safe manner to fabricate steel parts for refuse equipment.
General Description: Use appropriate tooling and equipment to fabricate steel to the desired specifications.
Essential Duties
Use fabrication equipment and associated tooling in an efficient and safe manner to optimize production.
Maintain accuracy of fabricated parts by reading blueprints and measuring using a tape measure, dial caliper, protractor or other precision measuring devices.
Maximize machine efficiency to produce the necessary parts needed to meet production orders.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and housekeeping on fabrication equipment.
Other Duties
Communicate effectively with employees inside and outside of the fabrication department.
Math skills including fractions, decimals, and angles.
Report safety hazards or mechanical failures to the Safety Department, Maintenance Department, and Lead or Supervisor.
Operate forklift or crane as needed in a safe and efficient manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: Crane and forklift certification preferred
Experience: 1 year(s) preferred in Fabrication.
