Job Title: Cable Plowing Technician
Job Summary:
As a Cable Plowing Technician, your primary responsibility is to install and maintain underground cable systems using cable plowing equipment.
You will work in collaboration with a team to ensure the successful installation of telecommunications and utility cables in a safe and efficient manner.
This role requires expertise in operating specialized machinery, following safety protocols, and conducting cable-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

Cable Installation: Utilize cable plowing equipment to install underground cables for telecommunications, electrical, or utility purposes.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain cable plowing machinery, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards.
3.
Site Preparation: Prepare job sites for cable installation by marking routes, clearing obstacles, and excavating trenches if necessary.
4.
Cable Handling: Handle and manage cables, connectors, and related materials, ensuring they are correctly routed and connected.
5.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
6.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on equipment and conduct minor repairs as needed to keep machinery in optimal condition.
7.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that cable installations meet quality standards and specifications, including accurate depths and alignment.
8.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of job activities, equipment maintenance, and any issues encountered during cable installation.
9.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, including supervisors, engineers, and other technicians, to coordinate and complete cable installation projects.
10.
Troubleshooting: Identify and address problems or obstacles that may arise during cable installation and make necessary adjustments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with cable plowing equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of underground utility and telecommunications systems.
- Ability to operate and maintain cable plowing machinery safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor environments.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and protocols.
