*Job Summary:*
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance and repairs to the infrastructure such as utilities, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems, as well as all production equipment in the Fabrication and Finishing department.
Oversees and manages the tool room personnel and set-up techs as well as all maintenance techs.
Delivers direction, communicates, gives feedback and accountability to those groups.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Hires and trains all staff in each sub-department.
•Sets repair priorities based off communication with the production staff, assigns those duties to the appropriate member of each sub department and communicates with the maintenance coordinator to provide feedback until completion.
•Reviews the priorities of action items, communicates those priorities to the maintenance coordinator for material resources availability and assigns action item task to the appropriate sub department member.
•Orders all necessary replacement parts as requested by the maintenance coordinator.
•Manages and maintains the spare parts inventory based off usage communicated by the maintenance coordinator.
•Submits ARF’s for approval.
•Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
•Establish and implement a robust PM program that will move SSW Premier from a reactive to preventive maintenance driven facility.
•Reports out on the weekly Cadence call.
•Performs root cause analysis on assigned or identified issues.
•Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Daily Responsibilities:
•Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance and sub departments.
•Conducts walk throughs of the facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed, not identified previously.
•Reviews downtime report to assess and prioritize repairs.
•Reviews downtime reports and end of shift reports to prioritize and assign tasks that provide the quickest path back to fully operational.
•Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
•Ensures maintenance, tool room or set-up work is completed correctly and within time standards.
•Communicates with department heads and reviews machinery daily for issues that need addressed that take away from DLU gains and productivity.
•Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
•Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
•Excellent management and supervisory skills.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•At least five years of maintenance experience required.
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
•Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
