Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for an Industrial Engineer/Principal Industrial Engineer Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals in the Aerospace Structures Business Unit (ASBU).
The selected candidate will lead our manufacturing optimization efforts in Iuka, MS.
Role Overview: In this role, you will work together with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to develop and refine production build schedules, implement cost-saving solutions and drive efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedule.
Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and define future state possibilities.
Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and define future possibilities.
Conduct studies and generate metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery.
Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers.
Apply systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery.
Provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations.
The selected candidate will enjoy flexible work arrangements, including a 9/80 or 4/10 work schedule with an option for days or nights.

Basic Qualifications: Industrial Engineer Level 2: Bachelor with 2 years of experience in engineering, Manufacturing/operations, Project Management or related OR Masters degree in with 0 years of experience OR PhD in with 0 years of experience.
Experience in Microsoft Office Ability to work on an assembly floor.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Clearance is required to start, but not to apply.
Principal Industrial Engineer Level 3: Bachelor with 5 years of experience in engineering, Manufacturing/operations, Project Management or related OR Masters degree in with 3 years of experience years of experience in engineering, Manufacturing/operations, Project Management or related OR PhD in with 1 years of experience in engineering, Manufacturing/operations, Project Management or related.
Experience in Microsoft Office Ability to work on an assembly floor.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
