Northrop Grumman Aerospace Structures Business Unit (ASBU) has an opening for a Manufacturing Technician 1/2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Iuka, Mississippi.
As a Manufacturing Technician you will work on the next-generation composite structures, performing tasks such as hand layup, fiber placement, assembly, machining, painting, and structural testing of composite parts.
Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to: Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks Perform rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies Collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment Work with engineers in conducting experiments Relay and receive information Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at either a Manufacturing Technician 1 or Manufacturing Technician 2 based on the qualifications below.
Manufacturing Technician 1 High School diploma or equivalent Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive tasks, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, and reach.
The employee may frequently be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Clearance is required to start, but not to apply Ability to work any shift depending on business needs Manufacturing Technician 2 High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive tasks, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, and reach.
The employee may frequently be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Clearance is required to start, but not to apply Ability to work any shift depending on business needs Preferred Qualifications: Active DoD Secret Clearance Composite manufacturing experience to include layup, assembling, or fabrication of composite parts Experience using hand tools or measuring devices (Drills, grinders, sanders, cutting wheels, saws, tape measures, scales, micrometers, dial calipers, etc.
) Experience working to electronic or paper work instructions Ability to read engineering drawings Additional Details: This position can be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights and weekends.
Shift differential will be provided as applicable.
Please note: A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining both a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access and is contingent upon Business funding.
Salary Range: $33,500 - $55,800 Salary Range 2: $39,800 - $66,300 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
