Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for an Associate Tool Design Engineer/Tool Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting Iuka MS.
We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures for military and space applications.

The Associate Tool Design Engineer/Tool Design Engineer will be a part of the Tool Design Team and will support tooling needs for businesses, production, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate for this role will have leadership abilities to work with internal and external customers and colleagues to ensure that the design meets the customer needs and see it through each phase of the engineering process (Design, Fabrication, and Implementation).
He / She will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal direct supervision, be adaptable to processes and company policy while providing input or methods of process/design innovation.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities: Design simple to complex Tooling, Drill and Assembly Jigs, and Dies via Catia and/or NX to support production.
Properly layout drawings using views and dimensions that are in compliance with ASME Y14.
1-5 standards.
Conceptualize designs in 3D, detail the CAD model and detail the drawings for fabrication.
Execution of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers.
Perform tolerance analysis and apply appropriate GD&T to ensure form, fit, and function.
Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement associated corrective actions.
Lead and assist the product development team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate processes and technology.
This requisition may be filled as an Associate Tool Design Engineer (Level 1) or a Tool Design Engineer (Level 2).
Basic Qualifications for Associate Tool Design Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree and 0 years of experience.
Ability to understand, read, and apply GD&T to a blueprint.
Ability to coordinate with 5 or more people ranging from fabrication experts to engineering experts to define large, complex statements of work.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access.
Basic Qualifications for Tool Design Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years drafting, tool design, engineering experience OR Masters’ Degree with 0 years’ experience.
Ability to understand, read, and apply GD&T to a blueprint.
Ability to coordinate with 5 or more people ranging from fabrication experts to engineering experts to define large, complex statements of work.
Experience in Catia, NX or equivalent design software, and ASME Y 14.
5 in a design role.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or in Scope Program Access Tool Design, engineering, or drafting experience Experience in Catia, NX or equivalent design software, and ASME Y 14.
5 in a design role.
Experience in Nastran or equivalent stress analysis Salary Range: $52,200 - $78,400 Salary Range 2: $63,000 - $94,600 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
