*General Operator – Night Shift*
*Duties/Responsibilities:*
· Will train on production equipment in the planer mill
· After training, will be responsible to perform operator functions to expected performance levels
· Learn and apply work processes and understand how they lead to increased productivity and reduce waste of useable product
· Maintain communication with other departments
· Maintains a clean workstation
· Adheres to company safety procedures
*Required Competencies:*
· Ability to accurately follow instructions
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Basic mathematic skills, mechanical aptitude, and use of measurement / alignment tools
· Ability to safely perform work tasks involving sharp equipment
· Ability to work independently without supervision and meet deadlines
· Ability to work in a team environment
*Education and Experience:*
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
· Prior manufacturing experience or lumber operations experience is preferred
*Physical Requirements:*
· Must be able to work in a fast pace industrial environment
· Must be able to work in both hot and cold temperatures
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights when needed
· Suitable agility and stamina to permit negotiation of stairs, elevated work platforms, ladders and walking on uneven terrain
