Finishing Room (Sewing) Department Supervisor

*Job Description :* Thacker Caskets is the largest family-owned funeral supply company in the United States, and we are looking to add to our supervisory team.
Thacker Casket Manufacturing employs about 250 team members at our 300,000 sq.
ft.
facility in Florence, Alabama and produces funeral products, mainly caskets, for funeral homes across the country.
To help fuel the continued growth of the company, we are looking to hire an experienced Finishing Department Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the department and ensuring that all production needs and quality metrics are achieved.
The ideal candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts, with experience in high-speed production preferred.
The position reports to the Production Manager and the Quality Manager.
Salary is based on experience and the position is eligible for bi-weekly bonuses based on department performance.
*Responsibilities:* * Liaise with employees and the production manager to formulate objectives and plan for successful execution.
* Schedule department production to fulfill production needs.
* Responsible for continuous training of all employees.
* Organize and monitor workflow to ensure quality and output are within expectations.
* Coach and counsel employees to ensure expectations are met.
* Knowledgeable of the use of all department equipment.
* Ensure production and quality goals are met.
* Enforce safety and health standards.
*Skills:* * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing supervision and industrial manufacturing.
* In-depth knowledge of sewing techniques * Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
* Attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong decision-making skills with a results-driven approach.
* Proficient in Microsoft products.
*Salary:* * $48,000 - $52,000 per year plus performance based bonuses.
