*Job Summary* Under the supervision of the PLANT MANAGER this position is primarily responsible for the coordination of all production and Direct Labor management activities of the manufacturing floor for the shift along with team of direct reports.
The principle responsibilities outlined below must be performed in accordance with all applicable regulations, safety guidelines, and *corporate policies.
* *Direct Supervisor for the following positions on assigned shift:* * Team Leaders * Material Handlers * Quality * Process Technicians * Maintenance Operations: a.
Coordinate the proper Direct Labor manning of the production floor to accurately match the standard labor requirements of the actual machines in production b.
Perform daily review of operator attendance and record absenteeism appropriately by working closely with the Human Resources Department c.
Coordinate and help conduct all training of new Direct Labor Operators, ensuring training records are current and available d.
Ensure all active production lines are manned per Method Standards and ANY exceptions are communicated to the Plant Manager and documented appropriately for reference e.
Ensure that all jobs are completed with accurate counts and that any overrun is previously approved by Plant Manager or Logistics Manager f.
Document & Report labor shortages for production to Plant Manager and Human Resource Department g.
Complete shift transfer communications to ensure proper communication of all safety quality, production, manning and scheduling concerns from one shift to the next h.
Provide direction to temporarily unassigned operators for secondary operations needing performed, i.
e.
rework, grinding, cleaning, etc.
i.
Ensure all breaks are properly relieved and monitored for accuracy through management of team and Team Leaders j.
Validate all production cells are properly completing all required documentation of Production and Scrap k.
Accurately complete daily production reporting requirements in timely manner l.
Actively and independently lead process improvements, using lean tools with direction from Plant Manager and CI Coordinator m.
Proactively report machine issues to include grinders, for all scheduled production cells *Essential Job Duties* Safety a.
Ensure all team members on floor at any time are wearing appropriate PPE equipment b.
Ensure work area is free of slip and trip hazards (fan electrical cords, water and pellets are the most common); c.
Ensure Emergency access aisles are unobstructed; d.
Keep all machines, storage and aisles are free of debris and pellets by coordinating activities of Direct Labor and cooperation with Material Handlers e.
Validate all LOTO procedures are being followed f.
Work closely with safety committee to identify and correct issues g.
Required to maintain first responder certification *6S Expectations* a.
Ensure all 6S stations have appropriate tools; b.
Ensure piles are immediately picked up and disposed of; c.
Ensure work stations, including the grinding area, remain uncluttered and comply with 6S audit standards; taking corrective actions when necessary d.
Ensure the break room is neat during the shift and at shift change; *Quality* a.
Ensure evaluation of all operators rejects are properly completed to ensure proper understanding and communication of all SCRAP per the Scrap Escalation Process b.
Ensure First Piece inspection parts are available c.
Validate all Quality Alerts and concerns are properly communicated through all team members d.
Validate all machine cells are operating with all proper documentation, including boundary samples and approved first piece sample, available to team member to ensure their success *Employee Treatment* a.
Be friendly and concerned of personnel issues; b.

Build a positive Team Attitude across all areas of shift d.
Neither engage in nor encourage gossip; e.

Help to catch up ii.
Ensure gloves are available as needed iii.
Ensure the proper tools are available – mallets, trimmers or pliers etc,; iv.
Check paper work availability for operators; v.
Help remove tries or parts as needed; vi.
Be responsive to buzzers and provide necessary assistance or call needed support staff; vii.
Recognize successes, encourage opportunities, remain positive! *Preferred Qualifications* \* High school diploma or GED * Two to Four Years in an industrial atmosphere is preferred * Good communication skills with ability to interface with all departments *Work Environment* The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
