*Responsibilities:*
· Learn to read job specification sheet and determine the correct product specifications, such as pellet appearance.
· Learn extruder startup, production, and shut down procedures.
· Manage department paperwork in regards to raw material consumption and production of prime product.
· Monitor all necessary quality checks and ensure product quality is maintained.
· Develop skills to perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment in the department.
· Optimize product quality and productivity while controlling scrap levels.
· Any and all other duties, as assigned by the manager and/or designee.
*Qualifications:*
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs.

· Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
· Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
· A drive to succeed with a self-starter approach and a can-do, positive attitude.
*Shift:*
· 12-hour shifts, overnight.
