JOB TITLE: Product Development Team Member
DEPARTMENT: Research and Development (R&D)
LOCATION: Style Line Furniture
Verona, MS
REPORTS TO: R&D Manager or Designee
FLSA: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: The R&D Team Member works closely with other members of the R&D Team in the development of new product as well as other production departments to ensure accuracy of all specifications and drawings of developed upholstered furniture pieces including but not limited to sofas, sectionals, chairs, and ottomans and ensure specifications are loaded into computer programs correctly for the production departments.
Essential Functions:
Strong Computer skills and working knowledge of CAD Programs
Working knowledge of manufacturing and design software including but not limited to: Lectra, Sketch up (3D Model), Master Cam
Ability to design furniture pieces from conception to finished product and create specification sheets
Program wood routers and create parts lists
Create sewing specifications from patterns
Maintain daily work logs
Maintain 100% efficiency with tasks assigned and ensure departmental goals are being met in a timely manner
Communicate issues to the supervisor or appropriate member of management
Work closely with other employees in the department to maintain a close team dynamic daily
Adhere to all safety guidelines and keep work area clean and organized
Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Self-motivated and work well without supervision
Strong attention to detail
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, bilingual a plus
Qualifications, Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred but will consider individuals with less than bachelor's degree with appropriate level of experience
3-5 years’ experience in similar role in furniture manufacturing preferred

Work Environment
This job operates in an office in a manufacturing industrial setting.
The employee may be exposed to both indoors and outdoors.
Light to Moderate exposure to sun, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, biological hazards, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials and chemicals, machinery, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and electric currents.

The duty of this job involves frequent sitting/standing at a workstation with the ability to move throughout the facility.
Some light to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.
), light carrying, frequent bending and reaching may be required.
Ability to use computer and telephone operation required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work hours as business needs require.
Shifts are typically 8 hours (7am-3:45pm) but may be modified depending on production and staffing needs.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
