POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Clerk plays a critical role for our business and customers by establishing and maintaining an inventory management system, maintaining system accuracy to match physical counts, keeping compliance counts up-to-date and problem solving to fix discrepancies.
You would be the backup for scheduling, shipping, and receiving.
Providing communication to internal stakeholders on inventory levels and aging, and by training teammates on methods and processes to maintain accurate inventory levels while reducing waste.
This full-time position will report to the Planning Control Manager at our Liberty Plastics location in Baldwyn, Mississippi.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains system inventory levels of raw materials & finished goods through data entry and record keeping, ensuring accurate and current data on inventory levels, quantity, excessive inventory, and shortages.
Report on inventory levels as required.
Enter data into several tracking spreadsheets: adjustments, floor sweep, rental trailer inventory, handheld RF Devises, etc.
Performs daily cycle counts and verify / manage product condition, count, and location.
Reconciles inventory balances to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained.
Review daily negative on hand inventory reports, checking locations for out of place inventory and making the necessary corrections.
Partners with scheduling, production, and shipping to control target inventory levels and ensure product availability to meet customer needs while reducing waste and aged inventory levels.
In partnership with operations, establish and maintain a system and methodology for warehouse raw materials & finished goods storage.
Provide input on inventory control based on value, history, forecasting, and customer demands, while maintaining balance against aged inventory goals Proactively communicates inventory levels information with internal stakeholders: scheduling, production, and shipping to reduce waste.
In partnership with scheduling and production, ensure employees are trained in inventory management processes.
Close Work Orders daily per completion to allow for JDE robot rollup.
Maintain and enter variance data for work orders.
Sent out weekly reports to leadership team.
Unload railcars, bulk trucks, collect and test material samples required.
Serve as lead on inventory audits and inspections.
Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution 2+ years warehouse or inventory control / leadership experience Forklift certification and forklift experience Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) Demonstrated ability to perform core math functions - add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
Demonstrated experience in organization, detail orientation, and the capability of working independently.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills Solid verbal and written communication abilities Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
