Summary: The Operations Scheduler will work closely with the Production Supervisor and Purchasing/Materials Manager to plan the production of configured items and/or manufactured components.
This person will be responsible for keeping the production plan in sync with customer demand or the next level demand.
Essential Responsibilities: Optimization of inventory and improving inventory turns to world class would be the ultimate goal of the Planner in a collaborative effort with the Materials Manager.
Production planning of all Engineered Valves product lines.
Work with the engineering department and Plant Supervisor to improve standards and work center efficiency.
Releases all shop orders for assigned configured items and/or components in accordance with the planning data in the item master records and within established lead times.
Balancing demand and shop floor capacity is an essential duty of the Planner by monitoring work center loading and the use of alternate routings and schedules.
Monitors accuracy of planning data and recommends changes to the Material Manager and Plant Supervisor.
Recommend minimum balances of stocking levels of raw and manufactured components to the Materials Manager.
Coordinates part number changes with shop floor personnel.
Quotes/issues delivery dates to Customer service.
Reschedules orders based on current information and advises the next level Planner or Customer Service Representative of the changes.
Monitors on-time performance of the products/components they are planning and recommends changes to improve results.
Leads weekly cycle counting efforts as directed by materials manager and onsite controller.
Position Requirements: Associate's degree and 3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required Experience with customer quote requests, MRP reports, and internal work orders is required.
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with Customer Service, Materials Manager, Plant Supervisor, and Shop Floor Personnel.
Understanding of inventory management, cycle counting, and production is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills ERP experience is required; SAP experience is preferred MS Word and MS Excel experience Safety is a core value at ITT.
