Characteristics of Work
Manager accountable for managing a large state park, multiple small parks, or large program and supervising permanent, seasonal, temporary and volunteer employees in the protection, maintenance, operation and repair of state parks, natural and cultural resources, facilities, equipment and systems.
Directs the general management of policy development, program planning, and coordination, and the evaluation of policy or organizational changes and new programs.
Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline.
Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience.
