First Southern Bank is looking for a Deposit Operations Supervisor to join our team.
The Deposit Operations Supervisor is expected to help provide operational and tactical leadership to the Deposit Operations team while serving as a resource to support other departments throughout the organization.
While working to build strong, valuable relationships throughout the Bank, the Deposit Operations Supervisor will also work to ensure success in issue resolution, process enhancement, and enhance the efficiency and productivity of the team.
The Deposit Operations Supervisor will also ensure departmental compliance with all rules and regulations related to a financial institution while increasing their knowledge of banking and deposit operations-related products and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide daily oversight for check and deposit account processing functions, including check payments, deposited items, ACH, overdraft and return item(s), ATM and debit card settlement and, related reconciliation of Bank deposit(s)/general ledger accounts.
Oversee and provide leadership for the Deposit Operations team including coaching, mentoring, training, and development for Deposit Operations team members.
Manage and participate in the processing, training, and delegation of ACH disputes, asset verifications, closed accounts, counterfeit currency, debit card disputes, direct deposit reclamations, exceptions items (unposted items, NSFs, chargebacks, etc.
), garnishments, subpoenas, levies and various wire transactions.
Prepare and review various reports for Bank, department, and/or Board.
Ensure that work schedules and deadlines are maintained and met while monitoring ongoing workloads for the Deposit Operations team.
Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to review, create, and modify policies and procedures while developing and implementing processes to monitor performance and efficiencies for the department.
Manage and lead assigned projects.
Interview, hire and train associates; plan and assign work; perform annual reviews; address complaints; and resolve problems.
Serves as point of contact for internal and external audits/exams and/or customer-related issues relevant to Deposit Operations
