” Working with Senior Leadership you will be responsible for the creation, implementation, administration, and ongoing revision of an overarching enterprise risk management (ERM) program providing both quantitative and qualitative results.
Your role in collaborating with other senior leaders will ensure the soundness and sustainability of our operational infrastructure and environment relative to our strategic plans.
You will foster at all levels a culture of enterprise risk management that accepts appropriate levels of risk fundamentally measured and reported by KPI’s, heatmaps, operational metrics, and acceptable risk limits or tolerances at the platform level, individual business units, and centralized strategic verticals.
You will strive for an environment of acknowledged risk tolerance versus risk avoidance.
You will have specific oversight or integrate with key Management for areas related to fraud reporting, payments platforms both digital and legacy branch activity, internal audit, and information security within both areas of IT and overall data security, along with key regulatory areas of risk related to Compliance, Credit, Interest Rate Sensitivity, Liquidity, Reputational, Strategic, and Transactional; and their related KPI’s inherent in CAMEL ratings of the ACUA and NCUA.
What you will do: Oversee and guide the creation and direction of the ERM program, to include a top-down approach by oversight of the ERM Committee of the Board of Directors.
Continue the development, implementation, and ongoing revision of all aspects of an acceptable ERM program in conjunction with enterprise-wide risk evaluations through department engagement and the ERM Committee.
Oversee ongoing ERM and fraud monitoring of various risk-taking activities and exposures to ensure they are in line with approved risk appetites, risk limits or tolerances approved by appropriate management or the Board of Directors.
Focus on LCU’s strategic plan to challenge material risk decisions and their possible outcomes, without being risk averse, and working in coordination with the risk appetites of management and the Board of Directors.
Provide strategic oversight for the Information Security Program as governed directly by the designated Information Security Officer as a key institutional risk.
Provide strategic oversight to management and staff responsible for detection and prevention programs related to fraud vectors, as a key institutional risk.
Manage and develop direct staff reports to perfect the ERM operational environment to support broader strategic initiatives.
Identify and implement the formation of processes, tools, and systems to identify, anticipate, assess, assign, measure, manage, monitor, maintain, and report on existing and potential risks for an ERM program.
Advise business owners across the organization of necessary adjustments to the operational platforms, techniques, resources and means to strategically identify, manage, and allocate resources relative to identified areas of risk.
Function as a change agent to influence and appropriately challenge material risk decisions and their outcomes, representing our commitment to safety and soundness while providing balance to a member experience.
Configure and maintain the overall structure for our comprehensive ERM approach; including the structure for departments, business units, and strategic verticals to remain integrated, cohesive, and aligned optimally.
Develop and coordinate integrated approaches to risk and fraud considerations, anticipation or detection, prevention, and incident response across departments, business units, and strategic verticals to utilize a strong technology skill set to streamline internal reporting and decision-making for ERM.
Ensure the activity within each risk area and or fraud vector has a detection system and/or process to measure and report the activity are for appropriate management.
Provide advisement and support across the organization with a strong emotional intelligence and presence, enabling an atmosphere of trust, reliability, and unbiased views of all areas of risk.
Maintain a complete perspective of our strategic initiatives and operational goals, and communicate risk versus rewards across departments, business units, and strategic verticals.
KPIs include successful development of risk and fraud vector heat maps and other tools to determine risk activity metrics that are within acceptable parameters.
Ensure documented risk and fraud processes exist to identify fraud vectors, anticipation, prevention, detection, and incident response.

Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
Eight to ten years of experience in financial institutions or risk management, with a documented record of progressive success in management, supervisory roles, or senior leadership Strong quantitative and analytical skills to run complex calculations necessary to assess risks in its various forms.
Superior knowledge of the existing regulatory and compliance environment of financial institutions Must possess a significant level of diplomacy and integrity.

Demonstrated ability to advise on, oversee, or utilize appropriate technology platforms to manage risk across multiple business units and functions.
