Overview:
13 week contract.
Responsible for the processing of Medical Staff and Allied Health Professional applications, and support of assigned Medical Staff Departments, Divisions, and Committees.
Provides secretarial support to the quality management staff.
Responsibilities:
Maintain information in the Medical Staff database.
Contact outside agencies, boards, colleges, training programs, and facilities for primary verification supporting applications.
Assures compliance with Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, TJC standards, and State regulations.
Coordinates scheduling meetings, including pre-meeting preparation of materials and notices, staffing, documentation of proceedings, maintenance of records, and follow-up on actions.
Assists with management of special Department / Division / Committee projects.
Prepares minutes for committee meetings as assigned.
Assists assigned Department Chairmen, Division Chiefs, and Committee Chairmen as assigned.
Updates and maintains call schedules for assigned Department / Divisions / specialties.
Notifies appropriate Hospital Departments.
Update and maintain databases for the Medical Staff Office and organization.
Notify appropriate Hospital departments of changes in Medical Staff and AHP appointments and privilege.
Participates in OPPE & FPPE reporting and provides secretarial support to the administrative staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) desirable.
Experience:
Two – three years in health care / medical office preferred.
Previous secretarial experience.
Experience in credentialing desirable
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Proficient in typing and use of Microsoft Word & Excel and Medkinetics software.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
